Nahum Tevet (ur. 1946 r. w Kibucu Messilot, Izrael); od 1969-70 r. studiował malarstwo u Raffiego Lavie; rzeźbiarz; pedagog, profesor Bezalel Academy of Art and Design w Jerozolimie. Od 2001 r. kieruje założonym przez siebie Programem Seminariów Magisterskich Bezalel Academy of Art and Design w Tel Avivie. Uhonorowany licznymi nagrodami. Od ponad 25 lat wystawia swoje prace w prestiżowych galeriach i muzeach na całym świecie, na pokazach indywidualnych m.in. Nahum Tevet należy obecnie do najbardziej znanych i cenionych artystów w Izraelu. W latach 70. współtworzył (m.in. z takimi artystami jak Micha Ulmann, Joshua Neustein oraz Buki Schwartz) scenę postminimalizmu, trendu niezwykle znaczącego w historii sztuki izraelskiej. Jego prace, nawiązujące w swej ikonografii do geometrycznych koncepcji konstruktywistów, pozostają zawsze w ścisłej relacji z przestrzenią, która anektują. Tevet podejmuje przewrotną grę z dziedzictwem konceptualizmu oraz minimalizmu tworząc rzeźby, które mogą, w powierzchownym rozpoznaniu, łudząco przypominać znane przedmioty z naszego otoczenia, np. meble – stoły, szafy, pułki. Niektóre moduły zachowują surowość materiału (np. sklejki lub drewna), inne natomiast są kolorowe – bardzo precyzyjnie pomalowane, najczęściej w pastelowe barwy, co wzmaga iluzję czegoś znajomego, jak gdyby zapożyczonego z codzienności, a przez to „oswojonego”. Zatarta zostaje więc nie tyko granica pomiędzy przedmiotem a rzeźbą, ale także rzeźbą a malarstwem. Można powiedzieć, że instalacje rzeźbiarskie Teveta, budowane z wielu drewnianych obiektów, to trójwymiarowe, kolorowe, totalne w skali „obrazy” przedmiotów. Wystawa pt. „1 i 1 jest 2 (podzielone)” prezentowana w Galerii AT jest pierwszym pokazem twórczości Nahuma Teveta w Polsce.

Nahum Tevet’s sculptures and installations have been exhibited for over twenty-five years.
