Dominacja praworęczności wynika nie tylko z przyczyn naturalnych, lecz również społecznych. Leworęczność była czymś niepożądanym, a posługiwanie się lewą ręką było postrzegane jako defekt. Osoby leworęczne próbowano przystosowywać do posługiwania się prawą ręką, jako tą właściwą. Byli oni traktowani jako odmieńcy, których należy przystosować do praworęcznej większości. Praca, którą zaprezentuję przybierze formę dialogu prawej ręki z lewą ręką (bądź prawej półkuli mózgowej, z lewą półkulą). Jej idea zrodziła się z refleksji nad językiem, który często zwraca uwagę na „prawą stronę” jako tę właściwą kosztem „lewej strony”. Postępowanie właściwie, to takie które określane jest jako: prawe, praworządne, prawowite. Można tu popaść w pułapkę homonimu prawa, gdzie prawo definiuje się jako narzędzie regulujące przepisy międzyludzkie. Jednak dla mnie istotna jest gra słowna, którą postanowiłem ukryć w alfabecie daktylograficznym, w którym obraz dłoni w różnych układach odpowiada poszczególnym literom alfabetu. [Paweł Polus]
Dominance of right-handedness results not only from natural but also social causes. Left-handedness was undesirable, and left-handed use was seen as a defect. Left-handed people were tried to adapt to using their right hand as the right one. They were treated as misfits who had to be adapted to the right-handed majority. Work I will present will take form of a dialogue between the right hand and the left hand (or the right cerebral hemisphere, with the left hemisphere). Its idea was born out of a reflection on a language that often pays attention to the "right side" at the expense of the "left side". Proper conduct is one that is defined as: righteous, lawful, lawful. Here, one can fall into the trap of the homonym of law, where law is defined as a tool regulating interpersonal provisions. However, for me, word game is important, which I decided to hide in the dactylographic alphabet, in which image of hand in different arrangements corresponds to individual letters of alphabet.
